Film / video / photographic related equipment.
Sellers: Maybe you have some gear you want to get rid of... yet you never quite find the time. Time to sort, identify, clean, take good photographs and get it out where it can be seen. Plus the time to respond to queries, package and ship items, and follow-up with customers.
Maybe you see old or unused gear around you and you think about the hassle of trying to sell it or, "No-one is going to have a use for this or that, let alone buy it".
And maybe you're right. However we’re continually surprised by what sells, and when. We can't guarantee your gear will sell (at your reserve price), however we can guarantee it'll be seen, by the right audience.
Strategy: Itemize, research, shoot quality stills and post with accurate descriptions to this web site. Once items are online there is usually more info which comes to light via questions, comments etc. Then, once we have enough info, either list a price and / or post item on eBay.
Utilizing Google Ads / Yahoo Ads, eBay, various message boards and forums etc., we generate continuous traffic and broad interest.
Our web traffic has been steadily increasing, our reputation is sound and our market is international. The Used Movie Gear web site averages 30-60 visits (hits) per day. Not a huge amount of visitors, BUT they ARE a select group of individuals worldwide who share a common interest in film and video production techniques and (older) photographic technologies.
We get great feedback and input from folks out there who visit and browse our site. Sometimes we have odd items where the identity and purpose is not immediately clear. So interaction with you, our visitors, is helpful to everyone. (yes we use Google Search too, but some things are just not there)
